Pumpkin Painting & Fall Decor

Last weekend I took the adventure of painting pumpkins with my one year old. I was ready for a disaster but it actually went very well.

I laid out an old bed sheet on our dining room floor, stripped Adriana down to her diaper, put some acrylic paint on a paper plate, and let her go to town on the pumpkin.

Installing a Garbage in Existing Cabinets

Happy Friday!

Today's post is all about dirty, stinky, garbage.

We built our last home so we were able to customize our kitchen which included having our garbage in a cabinet. Seriously, anyone who doesn't have this needs to get it, it's the best thing since sliced bread! The garbage is hidden and you don't have to worry about the smells!

When we moved to the farm house there was a whole lotta cabinet space but the garbage was not installed inside a cabinet. For the first few months we lived with a plastic pop up lid garbage can that we put under the island.

First of all, it was on the other side of the island from where all the prepping/cooking/baking is done and where the sink is located, so it was incredibly inconvenient.
Second, it smelt, like bad. It also didn't help that right when you walk in the house from the garage is the kitchen with the island right there so it was the very first thing you smelt.
Third, my dog is an ass. You might think that's a mean thing to say about our precious little Roxy, but it's the truth. You see, she's a Boston Terrier and that breed is known for being very smart. Roxy is smart but she uses her smarts for all the wrong reasons. She learned to jump up on the garbage can, use a paw to push the lid up and grab garbage out with her mouth. We came home or woke up to garbage all over our kitchen, dining room, and living room more times then I even care to know.

Yes, I'm still alive...

Okay, so I know I've been a SUCKY blogger. It's been almost 3 months since I did my first (and only) post up until this point.

Here's the deal, that was possibly the worst time of my life to start a blog because our life was super crazy. So, now I'm back with an overview of what has happened in the past 4 months.

So let's back up and start the story with how this big move happened.

First look

Welcome to Fabulous Farm Life!
I've decided to start this blog to keep track of the decorating and DIY projects and so everyone can see the updates without having to drive out to BFE to see the house. :)

Before we get started with all the pictures from before we moved in, let me sincerely apologize for horrible quality of the pictures. I had to snap them all quickly on my phone before our stuff started to be brought in.

Okay, now let's get to the good!! (Warning: there's a lot of them!)

Sorry for the mess in the garage! Through the sliding doors is the screened in porch.

The teal door on the left is the entrance to the house.

And the view when you walk through the door! Looking at the dining room and living room.
